State College
State College is a unique and wonderful combination of small-town charm and college-town action with exciting nightlife, shopping, and diverse restaurants. State College is the home of Penn State University. There is no shortage of things to do in State College from various outdoor recreation activities like mountain biking, hiking at Mount Nittany Conservancy and Spring Creek Canyon, the local ski slope, the Arboretum at Penn State, Millbrook Marsh Nature Center, Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center, Centre Furnace Mansion & Village, The Pennsylvania Military Museum, and fishing. The following golf courses are in the State College area: Toftrees, Centre Hills, Mountain View Country Club, Nittany Country Club, and Skytop Mountain Golf Club. There are numerous parks as well as outdoor pools.
Indoor activities include Discovery Space of Central Pennsylvania, Bowling in State College and Bowling in Bellefonte, indoor roller rink as well as What-a-Blast Laser Tag.

State College also has a vibrant arts and culture scene, including music and theatre venues like The State Theatre, Eisenhower Auditorium, and Tussey Mountain Amphitheater. The following towns and municipalities are located within the State College Area School District: State College, Pine Grove Mills, Warriors Mark, Pennsylvania Furnace, parts of Port Matilda, Houserville, Lemont, Boalsburg, State College Borough, College Township, Ferguson Township, Halfmoon Township, Harris Township & Patton Township. The State College School District offers eight elementary schools (grades 1-5), three secondary schools (two middle schools (grades 6-8) and one high school (grades 9-12), as well as four charter schools. The elementary schools are Mount Nittany, Corl Street, Easterly Parkway, Ferguson Township, Grays Woods, Houserville/Lemont, Park Forest & Radio Park. The middle schools are Park Forest & Mount Nittany. The charter schools are Wonderland Charter School, Centre Learning Community, Nittany Valley Charter School, and Young Scholars of Central Pennsylvania Charter School. The parochial schools in State College are Our Lady of Victory & State College Friends School.
