State College is a unique and wonderful combination of small-town charm and college-town action with exciting nightlife, shopping, and diverse restaurants. State College is the home of Penn State University. The following towns and municipalities are located within the State College Area School District: State College, Pine Grove Mills, Warriors Mark, Pennsylvania Furnace, parts of Port Matilda, Houserville, Lemont, Boalsburg, State College Borough, College Township, Ferguson Township, Halfmoon Township, Harris Township & Patton Township. The State College School District offers eight elementary schools (grades 1-5), three secondary schools (two middle schools (grades 6-8) and one high school (grades 9-12), as well as four charter schools. The elementary schools are Mount Nittany, Corl Street, Easterly Parkway, Ferguson Township, Grays Woods, Houserville/Lemont, Park Forest & Radio Park.
